Attack of the Giant Leeches - Click for cover
Massive, Blood Sucking Monsters!

Starring: Ken Clark, Yvette Vickers, Jan Shepard, Some guys in bad leech costumes Year: 1959
Director: Bernard Kowalski Rating: None, probably PG
Runtime: 62 minutes approx.

Nothing special here. It's your standard 50s sci-fi monster movie plot. Well, sort of. After the local drunk, Lem, claims to have seen a strange creature down at the swamp, people start to mysteriously disappear. Of course, nobody believes crazy ol' Moonshine Lem when he starts ranting about how a monster was responsible. Eventually, the cause of the disappearances is solved - giant leeches, of course - and it's up to Steve, the Game Warden/Swamp Keeper/lover of animals and all around macho guy to save the day. There are plenty of scenes of moonshine swilling hicks along the way. Well, not really. Maybe 1 or 2...but I can honestly say they are some of the best scenes of moonshine swilling hicks I've ever seen.
